Tea Circle Oaks

A large, spreading oak tree shading stone stairs in the courtyard of Frank Lloyd Wright's home, Taliesin. A large bronze bell is hanging from the lowest limb of the tree. The trunk of another, larger oak, known as the original tea circle oak, is seen just to the left of the trunk of the nearer tree through its branches. There are lilies blooming in the foreground, and below it is a stone walkway and a stone fountain. The original tea circle oak was struck and destroyed by lightning in 1959. The other tree survived until 1998, when strong winds toppled it, damaging Wright's studio.
