Race Bias Against U.W. Instructor

A group of students from the University of Wisconsin Student Council on Civil Rights picket a house on 540 West Mifflin Street and help to move out the possessions of a couple who had been evicted by the landlord because they temporarily sublet their apartment to a Negro couple. The renter, Carl D. Weiner, and his wife were out of state and gave permission to University of Wisconsin economic instructor Marshall Hall, and his wife to stay in their apartment until their own apartment was ready. On their first night there, the Halls, natives of Jamaica, British West Indies, were told by the landlord that they had to leave.
