Destroyed Post Office in Brest

Two soldiers in the lower left look at a map. Behind them is what remains of the Brest Post Office. Just under the decorative stone cornice at the top is the word "TELEGRAPHES," indicating that the building also housed the telegraph office. Rubble fills the street. Behind the soldiers is an empty military flatbed truck. The tire and gas can in the extreme lower left may be the back of the jeep in which Robert Doyle was sitting when he snapped the photo.
