Vignetted carte-de-visite portrait of Colonel Henry Clay Dunlap, Company A, 3rd Kentucky Infantry. When the regiment was originally mustered at Camp Dick Robinson, Kentucky, on October 8, 1861, Dunlap held the rank of Captain. He made the rank of Colonel on August 9, 1863, taking command of the 3rd Kentucky Infantry.
