Philip Fox La Follette greets a voter during the 1930 gubernatorial campaign. During this election, La Follette ran as a Progressive Republican, as his father always had. In 1934 Phil and his brother, Robert M. La Follette, Jr., left the Republican Party to form the Progressive Party of Wisconsin.
