Workmen demolishing the North Wing of the third Wisconsin State Capitol. Because the North Wing escaped damage during the fire in 1904, the North Wing continued to be used for several years. The workers' presence in this photograph serves as a gauge by which to measure the size of the Prairie du Chien sandstone blocks from which the third Capitol was constructed.
