The Keokuk Beside a Barge

The sidewheel packet, Keokuk, loaded with passengers beside a barge at a landing. The landing is filled with people and horse-drawn vehicles. The sign on the side of the wheel reads: "La Crosse and St. Paul Railroad, Packet, Keokuk." Bluffs are on the opposite side of the river.

The sidewheel packet, Belle of La Crosse, at a landing on the Upper Mississippi River. The sidewheel was built in 1868 and burned while in winter quarters at Alton Slough in 1881-1882.
