Busy Intersection with Billboard
Image
The intersection of Port Washington Road and Silver Spring Drive near Milwaukee. Even if one did not know that this was the intersection of a major north-south road with an east-west road, that could be guessed by the proliferation of advertising billboards. The Wisconsin Highway Commission printed this photograph in their annual report, calling special attention to the "dangerous and unsightly" billboards.
