View of the Vaughn Library building, built of brick in 1888 in the Romanesque Revival style. It was supported by retail, apartments and offices located on the first floor. A major renovation and restoration occurred in 1982. An extensive Property Record is on the Wisconsin Historical Society website, see "Property Record, 502 W 2nd St (aka Main St W), Architecture and History Inventory." It is listed on the State and National Register of Historic Places.
