Phillip's Residence

Exterior view of Colonel Phillip's residence. Built before the Civil War, it was situated "under the ledge" between the farms of Governor Tallmadge and Governor Doty. Col. E.L. Phillips was a state senator for the district of Fond du Lac in 1860.

French Trading Post Site
1920
Site where the first French trading post in Wisconsin was built at the fork of the Fond du Lac River in 1787. The site is located near the city's gas plant on South Highway 23.

Home of John McDonald, Park Avenue and Second Street. General U.S. Grant was a guest at this home at one time.
