Black and white drawing of the great seal of the state of Wisconsin. A mariner and a miner stand on either side of a quartered shield topped by a badger and bearing symbols representing labor, agriculture, mining and navigation. Encircled in the center of the shield is a representation of the United States shield and the phrase "e pluribus unum." The large shield rests on a cornucopia and a pyramid of lead. A banner at the bottom bears thirteen stars representing the thirteen original states. A banner at the top bears the word "Forward," the state motto.
