Wisconsin Map
Map
In 1849, northern Wisconsin was composed of huge sectional regions such as La Point, Portage, Brown and Crawford counties, whereas southern Wisconsin had settled into the counties we know today. Some tribal lands are also noted, including "Chippewa, Menomonies, Winnebagoes and New York Indians". This map was page 33 in Mitchell's New universal atlas.
circa 1848-1849
