Ebenezer Brigham

Quarter-length oval portrait of Ebenezer Brigham, founder of the first major community in the Blue Mounds of Wisconsin, which included a mine, frontier inn, and mercantile establishment. He was born in Shrewsbury, Worcester County, Massachusetts, on April 28, 1789. Brigham came to Illinois in May of 1818, and to Wisconsin in August of 1822. He settled at Blue Mounds in 1828.

Waist-up oval portrait of Jacob Gundlach. He was born in Kuhr Hessen, Germany, and emigrated to Wisconsin in 1832. In 1851, he became one of the first settlers in Germantown.
