Full-length studio portrait of a Ho-Chunk couple, John Buffalohead and wife Mary Snowball Decorra Buffalohead, with their dog lying at their feet. Clans kept an inventory of clan names of special dogs. In the background is a painted backdrop. John Buffalohead (ChayPaKah) was born in 1862 and died July 9th, 1914. (Son of [JumpBroHunWinKah] Mary Pettibone and 1/2 brother by mother to Peter Rockman.) John is the father to: Frank Buffalohead (WahChoZhoNoZhooKah), Kate Buffalohead (ENooKah) and Abel Buffalohead (MaNaKasRayHeKah). Mary Snowball, Decorra, Buffalohead (PayDokSeKah [Edge of brow is yellow]) was born in 1863 and died on November 20th, 1940. (Daughter of [WauSooMonEKah] Snow Ball and [WaConChaWinKah]) (Maternal granddaughter of Iron Walker and Green Feather Woman). Mary Snowball Decorra Buffalohead was married to Tall Decorra (HayNunkSeRatehKah) previously.
