Eben and Roseline Peck Cabin

Photograph of a woodcut of the Eben and Roseline Peck cabin. It was built by or for Roseline, the first white settler in Madison. The drawing was inspired by a painting by Mrs. E.E. Bailey. Caption on foot reads: "View of Madison in 1836. The noted sculptress, Vinnie Ream, is said to have been born in the log cabin shown in the foreground." The 1836 date on this print is wrong, the cabin was built in 1837.
