Additional Comments Charles Jedd Cottrill (1868-1934) became assistant treasurer of Goll & Frank after a long association with the firm. His father, Charles M. Cottrill (1835-1899) was the Milwaukee agent (1870s) for Union Steamboat Company, and the Wabash, St. Louis & Pacific Railway. Charles married E. Ida Goll (1867-1951) daughter of pioneer Julius Goll, who came to Milwaukee in 1849, and became prominently identified with the wholesale dry goods trade. This early 1850 partnership with Henry Stern was short lived, and two years later Julius Goll and August Frank founded the firm Goll & Frank. Four of the Goll daughters lived on Wahl Avenue, Louise (2519), Margaret (2559), Jessie (2569) and Ida. Another sister, married to Henry G. Inbush, lived on Shepard Avenue. The Cottrill's daughter, Alice, married Charles Harrison Schwartzburg, founder of the Harrison Oil Company, and they made this their residence until 1967. Charles Harrison's (formerly Schwartzburg) sisters also lived in the neighborhood as wives of Dr. Curtis Evans (2419 E Newberry Blvd), and Fred Schroeder (2726 E Newberry Blvd).
