"This church was officially organized in 1858. Services were held in various places such as Bower's Hall, a school house in Library Park, and in the East Side School. In 1869, after the Norwegian congregation was organized, a small white church was built on Cravath Street (Ole Bull Park). Masses were held here until 1908, when the current First English Lutheran Church was bought from the Baptists. Thsi church was built in 1886." Touring Historical Whitewater, n.d.
