South Side Historic District Walking Tour Guide: "Charles Knoblock was the president of the Racine Malleable and Wrought Iron Company. He and Ida lived here until he died in 1904, when she sold the house to Salo and Carrie Haas. Mr. Haas was the vice president of the B.D. Eisendrath Tanning Company, the largest and eventually the last of a number of Racine tanneries. The Hasses lived here until 1919, when the moved to Milwaukee. The tannery closed finally in 1966." |
