ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE: Excellent example of large early 20th century office building in nearly original condition. Construction date, 1912-14. (1) Sterling Eng., Builder. (2) An early Milwaukee "skyscraper" by the noted Chicago architectural firm of D.H. Burnham and Company. Noted examples of Burnham's skyscraper work (with partner John W. Root and as Burnham and Co.) include the Monadnock and the Reliance buildings in Chicago. |
