WINDOW OPENINGS NOW FILLED AND NEW, SMALLER WINDOWS INSERTED. OTHERWISE, BUILDING IS LARGELY INTACT. Resurveyed in 2009. No alterations. 2009: "Jakups Oil Co. is a gas station/service station (c. 1950) built in the Mediterranean Revival style. The one-story building is clad in painted stucco and has a picturesque parapet roof partially clad in mission tiles. All original window and door openings have been partially filled with painted concrete block and modern windows. The slightly projecting service bay (currently housing an ice cream shop) has had its large door filled with concrete block and a walk-up window." As of 2013, the entire building has been reclad in vertical metal siding. A green metal faux-mansard roof has been added, obscuring the original shaped parapet and tile sections. |
