"This house (one of several that were associated with R Connor Jr. in Marshfield) was built between 1900 and 1905 and is an early example that shares Queen Anne style characteristics as well as Dutch Colonial Revival. Robert Connor Jr. was associated with the locally important Lumber Company founded by his father R. Connor Sr. Mr. Connor served as a former mayor for the coty of Marshfield from 1909-1913 and for years was captain of the Marshfield unit of the Wisconsin National Guard, taking part in the Meuse-Argonne offensive, the march to the Rhine, was one of the army of occupation, and was decorated with the Croix de Guerre and given a divisional citation.
