Additional Comments 1998-
Ellsworth USARC consists of four buildings located on 2.5 acres of land in Ellsworth, Wisconsin. The area immediately surrounding the buildings is covered by asphalt or concrete. The land has been significantly altered, with the majority of the property covered by hard packed dirt and only small areas of grass. A small unnamed stream runs behind the facility. Ellsworth USARC is located in a commercial-residential area.

The facility is leased by the U.S. Government and controlled by the 88th RSC.

A records search at the Wisconsin State Historic Preservation Office revealed one archaeological site (47-PI-119) within a one-mile radius of the facility. Ellsworth USARC property has been heavily disturbed by construction activities, with much of the property paved or graded. An on-site assessment determined that there is a low probability of extant archaeological remains on the property.

Ellsworth USARC consists of an administration Building ("Reserve Center" in Army Reserve terminology), a Drill Hall, an Organizational Maintenance Shop, and a storage building.

The Drill Hall (this listing) consists of a one-story, rectangular, maintenance section with a one-story administrative section attached to the east wall. The maintenance section was constructed circa 1940 and the administrative section possibly dates to the original construction.

The maintenance section has a single pedestrian door and a wooden overhead-retractable bay door on the north wall. A wooden overhead-retractable bay door is located on the south wall of the maintenance section. A single pedestrian door and a three-light fixed window are located on the north wall of the administrative section. There are two glass block windows on the building. A barrel vaulted roof with stepped parapets covers the maintenance section and a shed roof with a stepped parapet at the north end covers the administrative section.

The building has no significant architectural character or merit.
