A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. This Period Georgian Revival house is probably the best example of the style in the Village of Denmark. The house was built around 1930 for W. J. Schleis, a dentist who kept offices at the Badger State Bank building (118 Main Street, AHI 1793.) House consists of two-story main block with one-story side wings. South wing contains a sunroom; north wing is located at northwest corner of house and contains an attached garage. 2009- "This Period Georgian Revival house was constructed before 1934 for Dr. W. J. Schleis, a local dentist. The house is two stories tall, has a hipped roof and is clad in cream brick. The east (main) elevation is symmetrical and consists of the main house block and two flanking one-story wings. The flat-roofed south wing stretches the entire depth of the house and contains a sunroom; the north wing is attached at the northwest corner and contains the garage. The main house is symmetrically composed, with an arched, pedimented porch at the front door. An elliptical fanlight above the door mimics the curve of the porch ceiling. On either side of the porch are a tripartite window consisting of a central six-over nine window flanked by two four-over-six windows. At the second story, a single elliptical window marks the center of the elevation, with a single six-over-six window with shutters on either side. Fenestration throughout the rest of the house is regular and consists of single or paired multi-pane double hung windows. A small hipped roof supported on scrolled corbels is located above a side entrance on the north wall.
