Additional Comments 1988- "Constructed in 1964, it was one of the first buildings to use narrow windows to maximize floor plan efficiency and conserve energy. The department is a national center for research and graduate training in veterinary science. Internationally recognized programs include a surveillance program for Newcastle disease in poultry, slow viruses, influenza and arthropod borne viruses, brucellosis, the impact of parasites on livestock production, leukemia in cattle, reproductive physiology, toxicology, and studies on the function of the heart and lungs."
