Move to new location approved by the NPS on 4/25/2002. The map code is 0709-234-0101-5. This is a frame boathouse built by the Madison Park and Pleasure Drive Association. Its construction came about as part of the beautification movement at the turn of the century. Joint sponsorship was made by Madison Park and Pleasure Drive Association and lumberman-philanthropist Thomas Brittingham. The park was designed by John Nolen.
