116 North Pelham Street Dr. Irving Schiek House
This two-story, brick, hip-roofed, Colonial Revival house was built in 1925 for Dr. Irving Schiek (City of Rhinelander tax rolls; Rhinelander City Directories; Rhinelander telephone books). The house has a symmetrical facade, and a central entrance framed with fluted pilasters and a pediment. The windows are six-over-one, four-over-one, and eight-over-one, double-hung sash, and there is a hip-roofed dormer on the roof. Schiek was a prominent local physician; the house remained in his family until at least 1963 (Rhinelander City Directories). This is a good and intact local example of a brick Colonial Revival house, of which there are few in Rhinelander.
