Plaque reads, in part: MAYVILLE CITY DAM BUILT IN 1946 DEDICATED TO THE MEN AND WOMEN OF THIS COMMUNITY WHO SERVED OUR NATION SO FAITHFULLY DURING WORLD WAR II [city officials, engineer & contractor] The Mayville City Dam is a reinforced concrete dam, constructed in 1946. The dam consists of seven bays; three of which are equipped with adjustable metal gates to regulate water flow. The dam has concrete sidewalls, and a walkway with tubular metal guardrails is located across the top of the dam. |
