It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Partly altered facade, entry with garlands. This eight story hotel was built in 1927 as the Hotel Manitowoc and home of the First National Bank. Later Manitowoc Motor Hotel. Although relatively unadorned, a number of Mediterranean features are found in the ornamentation including terra cotta balconettes on the top floor, arched panels over top floor windows and rope type pilasters on the northeast and southeast corners. The first floor contained large showcase windows (now filled in) framed by tile pilasters with patterned tile entablature on the east and south facades. First National Bank used to be on the first floor.
