Short stuccoed 2nd story compressed between broad roof overhang and extended lower brick story; brackets under the overhang; flared facades; vertical piers outline the entrance bay with sidelighted entrance door; one story enclosed east porch, leaded and stained glass in geometric design windows; outside end chimney. Constructed c. 1925, the Marcus Spettel House, also known as the Voight House in the 1930s, is significant as an example of a builder's interpretation of the Prairie School style house. Marcus Spettel was a grocer at the time this house was built. 2017 UPDATE - HOUSE APPEARS SUBSTANTIALLY THE SAME AS WHEN IT WAS LAST SURVEYED IN 1996. |
