The Tenney-Lapham Neighborhood: A Walking Tour: The John and Martha Rogers House was constructed in 1912. It is an example of the Craftsman style and was built by prominent Madison attorney Alfred Rogers for his parents. The two-story, stucco-clad house features an asymmetrical façade with a front gable roof, projecting two-story gable bay, and pedimented front entry. Ornamental details include a vertical half-timbering pattern with contrasting horizontal wood trim between stories. Fenestration includes a series of leaded glass casement windows encircling the first story of the front projecting bay and vertical four-over-one wood sash windows on the second floor of the façade. |
