This structure contributes to the significance of the Appleton City Park Historic District under Criterion C as a fine example of a well-preserved Queen Anne style house. This nearly unaltered late Victorian house wih its mostly original wrap-around veranda illustrates the type of housing constructed to house affluent middleclass families in the 1880's and 1890's. At the rear of the house is a rare surviving carriage barn, that although altered, illustrated the type of domestic accessory structure once commonly found behind the larger houses in the neighborhood. |
