Additional Comments This two and one-half story Queen Anne house has a large and rambling plan and classically-influenced details. It has an unusual gambrel roof with an intersecting gambrel accenting the front facade. The roof eaves are all decorated with modillions, and a palladian window decorates the front gambrel. Other openings are largely shingle-light double-hung sashes. A very large veranda wraps around both ends of the house. It features limestone piers supporting grouped round columns that support a flat roof. Under the wide porch eaves is a frieze decorated with dentils. The house is sided with narrow clapboards with wood shingles in the broad gables.

This house is architecturally significant as a good example of a Queen Anne house. The massive and rambling plan of this house is primarily what distinguishes it as Queen Anne. The large veranda and classical details are typical of later versions of the style. This 1902 house has suggestions of the emerging Colonial Revival style while still reflecting the irregularity of the Queen Anne style.
