| Additional Comments |
This one and a half story house has details that suggest the Gothic Revival style. The house has a steeply-pitched intersecting gable roof with hip-roof dormers. The brick walls are painted and punctuated by tall, narrow windows. Two sets of sashes with a pointed transoms decorate the gable peaks. The main porch features a hip roof, turned posts, fancy brackets, frieze and balustrade. Gothic Revival houses are not common, most builders of the era being more fond of the Italianate style. This house, with its steeply-pitched roofline, picturesque porch, and overall form and massing, is an interesting an unusual building. |
