2005-UNCHANGED SINCE PREVIOUS SURVEY IN 1980. MODERN GARAGE ON PROPERTY. 1980 ARCHITECTURAL STATEMENT: THIS VERY IMPRESSIVE BUILDING WAS DESIGNED IN THE ITALIANATE STYLE. IN ADDITON TO THE GENERAL PROPORTIONS, THE BUILDING DISPLAYS THE ELONGATED SEGMENTALLY ARCHED WINDOWS AND PAIRED BRACKETS ASSOCIATED WITH THIS STYLE. THE LATER ADDITION OF A PORTICO INJECTS A CLASSICAL NOTE. THE PORTICO CONSISTS OF TWO MONUMENTAL CORINTHIIAN COLUMNS SUPPORTING AN UNDERSIZED PEDIMENT. THIS HOUSE IS ONE OF THE MOST OUTSTANDING IN THIS SECTION OF THE CITY, WHICH IS DOMINATED BY SMALL GREEK REVIVAL DESIGNS. HISTORICAL STATEMENT: AUGUST HORN WAS A LOCAL BREWER IN PARTNERSHIP WITH LENARD SCHWALM. THE OSHKOSH BREWING COMPANY WAS A MERGER OF THIS PARTNERSHIP, J. GLATZ & SON BREWERY AND L. KEUNZEL BREWERY.
