"Circa 1872, Italianate Commercial. The "Walker-Trinke" building once housed the Bradley Knitting Mill." A Walking Tour of Olde Lake Geneva Towne, The Lake Geneva Plaque and Walking Tour Commission, 1993. "During the 19th century, buildings over two stories in height were called "blocks." Lake Geneva has two such blocks--the Landmark Center (originally the Metropolitan block) on the southeast corner of Main and Broad Streets, and the Walker block, built by Austin Walker in 1882. The Walker Block (later called the Trinke building) had a large meeting hall among many other rooms. Over the years it was the site of numerous businesses, including the Bradley Knitting Mill, the Geneva Herald newspaper, and dentists' offices. On both sides of the 700 block of Main Street in the downtown business district most of the buildings are of historic importance..."
