| Additional Comments |
A site file exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, Division of Historic Preservation. The New Glarus Town Hall is a two story rectangular clapboard structure with a small belfrey, peaked window moldings, and pilasters marking its corners. The town hall retains its integrity and is a good example of a county governmental building. The basement housed the village jail for many years. The town of New Glarus was organized in 1850 and this hall, erected in c. 1886, continues to be used for all town business. |
