Hauling Orange Boxes
Two men use an International T-20 TracTracTor (crawler tractor) to haul orange boxes on a trailer from a grove in an orchard to be loaded onto trucks. The tractor is equipped with orchard fenders. The original caption reads: "Owner: --Western Fruit Growers; Address: --Redlands, California; Location of Job:--Between Redlands and Yucaiapa; Model:--T-20; Bought:--October, 1935; Description of work:--Picking up and hauling orange boxes from grove to where they can be loaded onto trucks. Small trailers hold 80 boxes averaging 56 pounds, or 4,480 pound loads.; Loads or trips per day:--Approximately 50; Other work performed:--Also used for ditching cultivating; Fuel:--Gasoline; Hourly consumption:--1.6 gal." |
