Excelsior Laundry Company Truck
An International truck used by the Excelsior Laundry Company is parked along a street in front of a monument for the Fort Dearborn massacre. The lettering on the truck reads: "Excelsior Laundry Co., Established 1890; Chicago's Most Modern Laundry." The monument reads: "...Fort Dearborn Massacre, August 15, 1812; Black Partridge Saving Mrs. Helm." The monument was erected in 1893 and originally stood at the intersection of 18th and Calumet Streets, the presumed location of the massacre. |
