Furuseth, a seaman, was largely responsible for the Seaman's Bill, a reform for safety measures and fair working conditions for seamen. La Follette was his ardent co-sponsor of this bill. Steffens was a correspondent on McClure's Magazine whose articles exposed political corruption. |
