The original typewritten caption reads: "This was the only road out of Aliceville on Feb. 15, 1915, which was passable for an automobile. This dirt road is kept up for a distance of six miles by Summerville Brothers who own farms and a saw mill along the road, so that they can haul large loads. One of their men is shown dragging the road in front of one of their farms. Some of the meetings in the vicinity of Aliceville had to be changed after the speakers reached that point, on account of the impassable condition of two of the roads. If all the farmers had dragged their roads like this, there would not have been any trouble about getting to the meetings."
