The Oat Crop in Price County
Promotional card showing the tall oat that grow in northern Wisconsin. The image depicts three men standing in a tall oat field. The caption reads, "THE OAT CROP IN PRICE COUNTY. -All small grains yield large crops in northern Wisconsin. Particularly is this true of oats. The average yield in Price County is from 60 to 80 bushels to the acre, and the above view which was taken near Phillips in Price County, will serve to give an idea of the height to which it grows. It is not at all an uncommon thing to see oats, as well as rye, standing shoulder high. The grain heads out splendidly and is very heavy." |
