Note on the back: "Defenders dig in. Dien Bien Phu, Indochina: An airport once covered this area where soldiers have dug deep trenches as protection from bombing in the Dien Bien Phu area. As the battle mounted in intensity, French officials reported that air and ground attacks have inflicted heavy losses on the Communists attacking the beleagured fortress. They report the Reds suffered "appreciable losses" when French bombers launched their biggest fire-bomb assault of the war." |
