Workers Apply Latex Backing to Carpet
Workers in a carpet factory apply latex backing to hold yarn in place. The workers are standing on a slightly raised platorm, and the carpet is being fed vertically, horizontally across rollers, and then vertically again. Large spools of yarn in a variety of colors can be seen, and large industrial lights hang from the ceiling. Photo caption reads: "Dalton carpetmaking plants abound with sights like this. In finishing operation, latex applied to backing locks dense pile of yarn into place. (Monsanto Company Photo)" |
