Luther, Ernest Leonard 1868 - 1953
professor, b. near Hart, Mich. He attended Olivet College, Mich., and served as superintendent of schools at Kalkaska and Elton Rapids, Mich., and Ripon, Wis. In 1912 he received a B.S. from the Univ. of Wisconsin, and the same year was appointed agricultural agent for Oneida County, the first such agent in the U.S. to be paid from public funds. He was superintendent of the farmers' institutes (1915-1933), and professor of agriculture in the Univ. of Wisconsin Extension Service until his retirement in 1938.
