Lynch, Thomas 1844 - 1898 | Wisconsin Historical Society

lawyer, politician, Congressman, b. Granville, Milwaukee County. He moved to Chilton, Calumet County, in 1864 where he farmed and taught school until 1871. After graduating from the Univ. of Wisconsin Law School (1875), he held various local offices, served as Independent state assemblyman (1873), district attorney of Calumet County (1879-1883), and Democratic state assemblyman (1883-1884). He moved to Antigo, Langlade County, in 1883, and was mayor of Antigo in 1885 and 1888. A Democrat, he served in the U.S. Congress (1891-1895).
