lawyer, politician, Congressman, b. Franksville, Racine County. He graduated from Ripon College (B.A., 1893), and was superintendent of schools for Racine County (1894-1898). He graduated from the Univ. of Wisconsin (LL.B., 1899), and was admitted to the bar in 1900. He set up a law practice in Antigo, and was city attorney of Antigo (1900-1906). A Republican, he was elected to Congress in 1906, and served three terms (Mar. 1907-Mar. 1913). Defeated for re-election in 1912, he returned to his law practice in Antigo.
