Former life insurance agent; World War II veteran; served in Army Infantry 1943-45. In 1944 lost both hands in combat; he was 19 years old at the time. Past commander of Rosholt American Legion post, presently active member Post #6; life member of V.F.W.; chapter adjutant Disabled American Veterans (past commander of local chapter and district, presently dept. judge advocate), Military Order of Purple Heart, Army and Navy union. Served as Rosholt village assessor 1953. Elected to Assembly 1960; re-elected 1962 and 1964. Chairman Assembly Veterans and Military Affairs Committee; member Agriculture Com. and State Affairs Com., Legis. Council Labor Com.; served on Legis. Council Water Resources Com. 1961.
