(Dem.), born Caernarvon, Wales Dec. 20, 1884. Early education in Wales; came to USA 1905. Studied agriculture at Univ. of Wis. 1908-09. Lifetime farmer. Awarded certificate of recognition by Wis. Assn. of Co-ops. 1960, by Eau Claire County FFA 1943. Held various local offices; 12 years on county board, chairman of finance and resolutions committees. First elected to Assembly 1932; now in 14th term. Member Assembly Agriculture Cons., Legis. Council Urban Problems Com. Two sessions each chairman Assembly Agriculture Com. and Transportation Com. During his long tenure served on 12 different standing committees incl. Joint Finance, Taxation, Public Welfare, Highways, Commerce and Manufactures, and on many interim committees.
