Lutheran clergyman, professor, junior college president, b. Crete, Ill. He graduated from Concordia Junior College in Milwaukee (1917), Concordia Theological Seminary, St. Louis, Mo. (S.T.M., 1923), and Columbia Univ. (M.A., 1928). In 1923 he moved to Milwaukee to become assistant instructor in English and history at Concordia, was professor of English (1927-1936), and president of Concordia Junior College from 1936 until his death.
