(Rep.), born in Washington County's Town of Jackson, Oct. 12, 1894. Educated grade school ; Univ. of Wis. Farm Short Course. Owns dairy farm which is Schowalter homestead since 1843; produces canning crops, seed grains, white clover seed. Also operates animal farms raising deer, buffalo, longhorn cattle, African mountain sheep, elk; has supplied white-tailed deer to federal and state restocking projects since 1938. Active in local church and community affairs. Served as school treasurer, town assessor. Elected to Assembly 1954; now in 5th term. Vice chairman of Assembly Engrossed Bills and Revision Committees; Member Insurance and Banking Com. Served 4 terms on Assembly Agriculture Com.
